Every attempt will be made to keep this page update, but the number of email scans grows by the day. Just remember if it shows to good to believe, then it probably is. Never give out your personal information.

Scam to Lion Members

New e-mail scam targeting Lions Several Lions member have received a new e-mail phishing scam targeting Lions Club Members. The scam e-mail claims that a deceased Lion has left money to the e-mail recipient to be donated to philanthropic efforts. The sender, who claims to be the executor of the will, then asks for the recipient’s personal information, including a copy of the individual’s passport and driver’s license, in order to claim the inheritance. Here is an example of the scam that is circulating: Congratulation! On behalf of the Trustees and Executor of the estate of Late Lion Mark Andreoni,I write to notify you that my late client made you a beneficiary to the bequest sum of Ten Million US Dollars in the codicil to his will and last testament. My client decided to bequeath his estate to a fellow member of Lions Club with a good track record. Lion Mark Andreoni (late) before his demise has no child nor wife to bequeath his estate to. In view of that, Lion Mark Andreoni (late), made you a beneficiary in his will. Lion Mark Andreoni,died on 14th day February 2006 after a brief illness. Until his death he was consultant to several oil and gas industries. He had a sojourn in the United States and so many other countries before he came to Cairn Energy PLCan oil and gas exploration and production company based in the United Kingdom. MyClient, Lion Mark Andreoni was the president of Lion Club of ABINGDON-ENGLAND,with club number: 0000039890, District: 1180, he was a dedicated christian and a philantropist . This bequest is to support your activities,humanitarian services and help to the less-privileged. Please if you receive this email as expected, you should endeavor to get back to meas soon as possible to enable me conclude my legal duty, you should forward along your current telephone and fax numbers, your current occupation, age and mailing address. Also to be sent to me is the biodata page of your international passport or drivers licence as a proper identification. Once again, I congratulate you for this is a significant honor indeed.
